Her subsequent films brought different challenges. For Maroun Bagdadi's 1992 La Fille de l'air, based on the real-life jailbreak by Nadine Vaujour, she learned to fly a helicopter. "I'm a great risk-taker," Dalle says. And with 1994's Alice et Elsa, the story of the destructive relationship between two sisters (Dalle and Anne Parillaud), Dalle became more than just a pretty face. For the first time, her role diverged significantly from her own personality. "Up 'til now," she explained, "I only wanted to play characters similar to myself because I was afraid of not being able to show feelings I was unfamiliar with."
